Welcome

Wanderlust: a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world

I feel that it's only appropriate to start this new blog with an explanation as to why I even decided to write it in the first place and why I feel like it would be worthwhile for you to take some time out of your day to have a read.
The idea started when I went back to visit my high school and my former principal asked me what I've been doing with myself. I explained that I've been doing missionary volunteer work in the Dominican Republic and, while I like it for now, I'm not absolutely certain that it will be a "forever" situation. Then he basically suggested I figure out what I was going to do with myself because I couldn't be a wanderlust forever.
Wanderlust? What?
As soon as got a chance I looked up the word and found the definition you see above. I mean, I guess I've been called worse things in my life. But after giving it some thought, I asked myself, "Is there really something wrong with being a 'wanderlust' as long as you have a purpose, you make the best of the time you spend wherever you might be, and you learn from every experience and every person along the way?"
My answer: "Nope."
That being said, the purpose of this blog (which will hopefully be updated at least weekly) is to share with those who are interested my experiences, my feelings, the lessons I've learned from the places I've been and the people I've been blessed enough to cross paths with. I'll give most of it (not all, lol): the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'll even throw in some of my fave pictures from along the way.
Nothing will necessarily be in chronological order. You'll just be getting whatever I'm inspired to share at any given moment: current stories, old emails sent to family and friends, journal entries from my post-earthquake visit to Haiti, anything.
Hope you all enjoy the ride with me!
